This role involves designing customer and user-focused experiences for Rocket League, implementing UI systems in Unreal Engine, building prototypes, layouts, and visual scripting, and improving workflows by collaborating with UX Designers, UI Artists, and UI Programmers. The designer will ensure UI performance, debug issues, and assist in organization and documentation.
Work on UI Systems Design, breaking down features/wireframes into necessary widgets, materials, and input navigation.,Increase UI performance by ensuring best practices.,Ensure assets/UI are within memory and CPU constraints, and profile performance.,Implement blueprint logic and assist UI Artists with special presentation behavior.,Consult with UI Programmers on logic in blueprint vs. native code.,Debug blueprints/UMG issues quickly.,Assist UX, UI Art, and UI Programming in organization, documentation, and workflow improvements.,Experience in building UI and experiences in game engines and across multiple platforms (mobile, web, PC, consoles) or similar transferable experience.,Experience shipping updates and new features to a user base regularly or similar transferable experience.,Professional experience using Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator a plus).,Engine experience (Custom engine, Unity, Unreal Engine, Lumberyard, Snowdrop, etc.).,Understanding of game industry 3D-package experience (3D Studio, Maya, etc.).,An eye for pixel-perfect UI and ability to translate/spot potential issues with mockups.,Logical problem solver with attention to detail and excellent written/communication skills.,Ability to translate communication across departments and empathy for non-technical team members.,UI work on 2+ AAA game titles.,C++ and scripting experience.,Experience with building materials/shaders in Unreal or equivalent.
