Lightspeed is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Field Sales Engineer/Solution Consultant to join their team. This role is crucial for revenue generation by influencing deal strategy, solution design, competitive positioning, and customer confidence throughout the sales cycle. The successful candidate will drive new business, support strategic accounts, and ensure seamless collaboration between sales and implementation teams, requiring a deep understanding of Lightspeed's products, exceptional technical expertise, and strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with sales experience. The position is based in Manchester and requires regular travel across the North of England and the Midlands to support the Field Sales team.
Provide remote and field sales support, including on-site discovery, customer meetings, and in-person demonstrations, with significant travel across the North of England and the Midlands.,Partner with Account Executives to scope, design, and validate technical solutions addressing customer needs, identify risks, and recommend optimal solutions for deal progression and closure.,Support sales teams by surfacing technical risks, constraints, and dependencies early in the sales cycle to protect deal value and ensure smooth handover to implementation.,Collaborate with Strategic Account Managers to support customer retention, satisfaction, and expansion through technical insight.,Act as a technical contributor within Go-To-Market channels, providing product and integration guidance.,Support trade shows and industry events through technical execution, system setup, on-site troubleshooting, and acting as a professional product ambassador.,Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the competitive landscape and industry expertise to support sales teams with positioning and differentiation.,Build deep expertise across Lightspeed's hardware, software, integrations, and APIs, serving as a reliable technical resource.,Deliver Tier 1 partner demonstrations to support new partner onboarding and strengthen existing relationships.,Act as the technical owner for RFP and RFI responses, coordinating inputs from various teams and ensuring accurate submissions.,Ensure demo stations and accounts are reliable, up-to-date, and representative of real customer use cases.,Work closely with Implementation and Professional Services teams for a smooth transition from sales to delivery.,Maintain a close working relationship with regional sales leaders to align on priorities and deal strategy.,Act as a conduit between customers and Product teams, sharing feedback and contributing to roadmap awareness.,Own clear, accurate, and timely documentation of customer requirements and technical decisions.
Demonstrated experience in sales, solutions consulting, or customer-facing technical roles.,Exposure to cloud-based SaaS technologies, ideally within hospitality, retail, or adjacent industries.,Strong technical curiosity and comfort learning new technologies quickly.,Knowledge of the hospitality industry; hands-on restaurant experience is highly valued.,Excellent communication skills for both technical and business audiences.,A collaborative mindset and ability to build strong relationships across Sales, Product, and Delivery teams.,Comfort working in a fast-paced, commercial environment with evolving priorities.,A basic understanding of APIs and integrations (or strong willingness to develop this skill).,Right to work in the country of application.
