Warehouse Material Handler - 2nd shift

Description

The Material Handler will be a key stakeholder for a new conversion facility, responsible for loading, unloading, preparing, and moving materials, stacking finished products, and performing various material handling functions. This role is integral to Saputo's strategy to optimize its cheese network in North America.

What We're Looking For

Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures (GMP, SOP, HACCP, SSOP, H&S).

Load and unload materials and product from trucks.

Rotate inventory and maintain accurate inventory records.

Transport materials and product to designated areas.

Maintain internal and external warehouse.

Complete all shipping and receiving record keeping, tagging, and documentation.

Utilize and coordinate warehouse racking and space efficiently.

Ability to read and comprehend production worksheets.

Keep work area neat, clean, and organized.

Make productive use of down time.

Attend mandatory safety and departmental meetings.

Able to rotate into all positions on the line.

Box and palletize boxes according to instructions, ensuring accurate counts and proper identification.

Perform any assignment or job task according to safety policies and procedures.

Produce products exceeding quality and value expectation by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in the Safe Quality Food Program.

Other responsibilities as assigned.

Ideal Candidate

Working knowledge of production and plant processes.

Ability to work scheduled hours and required overtime.

Displays traits of reliability, honesty, respect, attention to detail, and punctuality.

Basic analytical and numerical skills and ability to perform mathematical calculations.

Can communicate effectively and efficiently.

Working knowledge of Safety Methods and Procedures.

Self-motivated, able to multi-task, and can work independently and as part of a team.

Committed to food safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Demonstrates professionalism and positively represents and promotes Saputo at all times.

Ability to work in manufacturing environment (noise, changing temperatures, standing/walking/bending/stooping/climbing stairs, maneuvering around manufacturing equipment).

Physical lifting up to 40-lbs unassisted frequently.

Working with chemicals, wearing personal protective equipment, and following approved chemical handling procedures.
