VP, Credit Advisory, Fund Banking RBCx

RBCx is seeking a VP, Credit Advisory for their Fund Banking division. This role involves understanding the challenges faced by venture capital investors in Canada and delivering tailored credit solutions that integrate sales, products, risk policy, and market strategies. The VP will act as a strategic partner, collaborating with clients and Relationship Managers throughout the credit underwriting and structuring processes.

What We're Looking For

Serve as a trusted advisor to Venture Capital Funds in Canada, providing strategic advice.,Collaborate with the Relationship Management team to structure Capital Call and Subscription Lines, Management Company Financing, General Partner Loan Facilities, and other suitable products.,Complete analysis and documentation for new or upsized credit transactions, perform annual renewals, and ensure proper portfolio management and compliance.,Demonstrate commitment to teamwork and collaboration to meet client needs.,Exercise good judgment and due diligence, working with Risk Management and adhering to risk processes and guidelines.,Undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., finance, business, economics, engineering).,7-12 years of experience in banking or financial services (e.g., Group Risk Management, Commercial Account Manager), or 4+ years in credit underwriting.,Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).,Strong business and financial acumen, including excellent understanding of financial statements.,Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.,Interest in Venture Capital.

Ideal Candidate

Undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., finance, business, economics, engineering).,7-12 years of experience in banking or financial services (e.g., Group Risk Management, Commercial Account Manager), or 4+ years of experience in credit underwriting.,Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).,Strong business and financial acumen, including excellent understanding of financial statements.,Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting time-sensitive deadlines.,Interest in Venture Capital.,Strong presentation, communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills (Nice-to-have).,Exposure to technology or life sciences ecosystem in a past role (Nice-to-have).,Strong analytical and financial modelling skills (Nice-to-have).,Accounting designation (CPA/CA/CGA/CMA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) (Nice-to-have).
