The Vice President, Global Core Trade Finance will report to the Managing Director and Head of Global Core Trade Finance, being responsible for providing product coverage, structuring advice, and risk mitigation solutions for Canadian-domiciled multinational corporate clients. The role involves driving product penetration, managing the transaction lifecycle from origination to execution, engaging with clients, and collaborating with internal stakeholders across various regions.
Responsible for end-to-end transaction lifecycle, including origination (due diligence and pitching), structuring, and execution of transactions and opportunities within assigned portfolio.,Lead origination efforts within assigned portfolio by identifying new opportunities to add new clients and increase our GCTF share of wallet.,Provides deal structuring expertise and prepares / oversees delivery of creative and timely term sheets and pitches.,Obtains credit concurrence and coordinates pricing approvals.,Arrange and engage in client calls and presentations.,Maintain an active pipeline of prospective new business.,Work closely with regional teams in the US, Toronto, London, Singapore, Montreal, and Vancouver.,Manage and deepen relationships with existing portfolio of clients through disciplined and dedicated coverage, serving as a trusted advisor and lead contact point for all GCTF matters.,Help clients navigate the organization; engage the relevant partners to assist in the resolution of client issues as necessary.,Support and facilitate deal communication and client touchpoints (e.g., call reports) with the CIB relationship coverage team.,Assist with preparation of deal summaries and articulation of new deal opportunities.,Assist in the preparation of RAROC and pricing models.,Facilitate the negotiation of credit related documentation.,Apply a risk lens to every transaction and be able to formulate a position on the deal structure.,Steward transactions through successful credit approval to closing / funding.,Considers risk, internal controls, policies, compliance, and profitability as part of day-to-day accountabilities.,Coordinate with relevant credit and operational teams for ongoing maintenance of the GCTF portfolio.,Works as a key member of the broader relationship coverage team within CIB, participating in joint calling / pitching efforts.,Understands the firm's coverage strategy, prospect universe, and risk appetite within assigned market / client segments.,Develops a calling and coverage plan in conjunction and with concurrence from the relevant CIB relationship managers.,Reviews, guides, and appropriately leverages work of Analysts and Associates to drive business results.,Identifies and socializes cross-selling initiatives and opportunities within the firm as appropriate; operate with a 'One-TD' mindset.,Demonstrate visible leadership among peers and presence across the TD Franchise.,Represent TD’s unique and inclusive culture internally and externally.,Contributes to growing / elevating the TD and GTB brand with a commitment to and presence in the industry and community.,Stay abreast of market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments specific to the GCTF industry.,Contribute to the development of strategic initiatives and new product builds / onboarding as required.
10-15 years of relevant experience in trade finance, corporate / commercial lending within a major financial institution, including at least 5-7 years as a senior or lead contributor showcasing a successful track record in deal origination and execution.,Strong knowledge and practical expertise across traditional trade finance products such as standby letters of credit, bank guarantees, and documentary letters of credit.,Experience structuring complex financial transactions, negotiating legal / loan documentation and sound understanding of credit products, with a specific focus on trade financing solutions.,Experience covering and developing relationships with large corporations and global financial institutions.,Ability to create and deliver professional product ideas and presentations.,Ability to drive resolution of client issues.,MBA, CFA, or equivalent experience in financial services, accounting, or legal fields.,Geopolitical and financial acumen and awareness.
