This role involves managing valuation controls, policies, and governance within the Product Control team at TD Securities. The specialist will ensure accurate and timely reporting, maintain robust controls, and uphold governance standards for valuations. They will also provide insights and analysis on the bank's Fair Value results, working closely with various internal departments like Front Office, IT, Risk, and Finance.
Coordinate and assist with regular valuation committee meetings, ensuring effective oversight and documentation of valuation decisions.,Prepare and present reports on valuation matters to senior management, risk committees, and other stakeholders.,Ensure the Bank's fair value reporting and Financial fair value disclosure are following various Valuation Policies.,Explain IPV variances, Valuation Adjustment results with succinct commentaries.,Keep senior management and key stakeholders informed of any significant updates.,Collaborate with auditors and regulators during valuation process reviews and examinations.,Identify opportunities and implement objectives to improve/streamline processes.,Provide training and guidance to valuation teams on governance standards and policy updates.,Stay up-to-date with changes in valuation regulations, accounting standards, and industry developments.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Financial Management, or a related field.,Professional certifications such as CFA or FRM are highly desirable.,5+ years of experience in valuation control, risk management, or audit within financial services or a related industry (Valuation Control or Governance experience is mandatory).,Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.,Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.,Proficiency in data analysis and relevant valuation tools/software.,Working knowledge of valuation techniques for various asset classes (e.g., equities, fixed income, derivatives, private assets).,Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as IFRS, US GAAP, and relevant financial regulations.
