This role involves training technical staff in animal care for the Toxicology team at Charles River Laboratories in Laval. Responsibilities include teaching animal room cleaning, restraint methods, and accurate data recording for various parameters like body weight, food consumption, and clinical signs, ensuring adherence to quality and competence standards. The trainer is also responsible for evaluating employee understanding, ensuring compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) rules, participating in process improvements, and maintaining effective communication with supervisors. Charles River Laboratories is a Contract Research Organization (CRO) focused on preclinical drug development and safety assessment services globally.
Train animal room cleaning and restraint methods.
Train on data recording for body weight, food consumption, and clinical signs to meet quality and competence standards.
Evaluate employee's level of understanding in relation to the training received.
Ensure integrity of studies and fulfill regulatory agency requirements (GLP, SOP, IACUC).
Ensure follow-up of procedural changes and participate in process improvement efforts.
Ensure good communication with supervisors of different departments during and after employee training.
High School diploma.
At least 2 to 3 years’ experience in a research center as an Animal Care Clerk/Animal Care Attendant.
High School diploma
Monday to Friday, daytime; 37.5 hours per week.
Must undergo an annual tuberculosis test at the company's expense.
