Technical Services Senior Specialist (NIR / FOSS)

Description

This role supports and optimizes the use of FOSS NIR analytical instruments within dairy production environments. The specialist ensures accurate, efficient, and compliant analysis of dairy products for quality control, process optimization, and regulatory adherence. Responsibilities include instrument operation, method development, data analysis, calibration, validation, research and development, quality control, and providing training and technical support to lab and production staff.

What We're Looking For

Operate and maintain NIR spectrometers; develop and optimize NIR spectroscopy methods; understand and interpret spectral data; ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards; calibrate and validate instruments; conduct research for new applications; ensure methods meet industry and regulatory standards; train and support staff on NIR instruments.

Ideal Candidate

Degree in Food Science, Dairy Technology, Chemistry, Physics or a related field; 3-5 years of industrial experience in the relevant field; advanced training or certification in spectroscopy or analytical chemistry is beneficial; deep understanding of NIR spectroscopy principles and techniques; strong ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets; ability to troubleshoot instrument and method issues; understanding of dairy product composition (cheese, butter, yogurt); understanding of industry standards and regulations for dairy product analysis.
