Description

This role within RBC's Taxation group focuses on managing tax compliance for specific subsidiaries and supporting RBC Legal Entity tax filings. Key responsibilities include gathering and aggregating tax-related information for various reports, ensuring accurate tax data for returns, payments, provisions, and audits, and contributing to process improvement and automation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have an interest in taxation, process automation, and a drive for continuous development and operational excellence.

What We're Looking For

Prepare monthly income and capital tax provisions, tax account documentation, and attestations for assigned subsidiaries.,Ensure timely preparation and payment of tax instalments.,Prepare quarterly tax note reporting and tax returns for assigned subsidiaries.,Reconcile income and capital tax accounts in accordance with audit requirements and documentation standards.,Assist the Tax Director with RBC Legal Entity tax provisions and filings, including information gathering for tax adjustments.,Review accuracy of notices of assessment/reassessment and maintain records.,Collaborate with Senior Tax Manager/Tax Director to respond to Federal and Provincial tax audit queries.,Provide general support to the Tax Operations Group and perform analytical functions for tax compliance and consulting.,Standardize and automate disparate processes and streamline repetitive tasks to improve operational efficiency.,Hold a professional accounting designation.,Possess good knowledge of financial/tax accounting principles.,Have experience in accounting or finance roles with an understanding of legal entity accounting and financial statements.,Be detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines and work under pressure.,Communicate effectively, both written and verbal.,Demonstrate strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.,Possess advanced computer skills, including Excel, Power Query, Power Pivot Excel add-in, and VBA (Visual Basic for Application).,Have experience automating and streamlining tax return preparation processes.,Exhibit a performance-driven attitude with a focus on process improvements and achieving 'best in class' operations and solutions.

Ideal Candidate

Knowledge of Canadian federal and provincial income and capital tax laws.,Completion of CPA In-Depth Tax Program.,Knowledge of Tax Preparation software.
