Supervisor, Distribution

Description

Reporting to the Distribution Manager, this role involves actively participating in the Saskatchewan/Manitoba/NWON distribution team, providing confidential support, and handling various duties. The supervisor is responsible for analyzing and overseeing all aspects of distribution operations, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and continuous improvement in procedures and practices. The goal is to reduce costs and ensure timely delivery of products to customers.

What We're Looking For

Analyze and supervise all aspects of distribution operations efficiently and effectively.,Implement improvements in departmental procedures and practices.,Achieve Distribution & Logistics mandate by reducing the cost to land ordered products at the Customer's F.O.B. point, on time, every time.,Maintain current knowledge of operational systems including Transport, DSD, and Contracted Distributor Operations.,Assist in establishing an annual operating budget for the Distribution department.,Effectively manage company assets.,Establish and perform annual route audits and ride-along schedules with all routes under responsibility.,Establish and perform annual business reviews with all Contracted Distributors under responsibility.,Participate in the contract renewal process with Contracted Distributors.,Undertake proactive communication sessions with all departments regularly.,Lead personnel through proactive communications, employee involvement, and individual feedback and appraisal.,Understand and apply company policies and procedures in a firm, fair, and consistent manner.,Understand and promote Saputo company Values.,Hold employees accountable for complying with all facility Health & Safety requirements and provincial regulations, immediately addressing unsafe acts and conditions.,Advise workers of potential Health & Safety risks, management, Health & Safety personnel, and Health & Safety Committee member(s).,Ensure all employees, including temporary workers and contractors, adhere to safety requirements, including personal protective equipment.,Perform other duties as assigned.

Ideal Candidate

Post-secondary education in operations management, business, transportation, or warehousing preferred.,Thorough knowledge of shipping, operations management, business, transportation, or warehousing.,4+ years of progressively responsible experience in facility or warehouse operations preferred.,Knowledge and experience of SAP is an asset.,Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages, especially Excel.,Able to make effective presentations to diverse groups.,Knowledge and experience of the Dairy Industry is an asset.,Knowledge and experience of applicable regulations, health and safety, public safety and security, administration and management, transportation principles and methods, change management principles and methods, personnel and human resources, labor relations, financials, customer and personal service, English language, and other languages as required.,Work values: develop and maintain health and safety conscious working environments, lead by example, offer supportive management, and empower employees to provide service to others and work with co-workers in a friendly environment.
