Charles River Laboratories is looking for a summer student Veterinary Assistant Technician in Senneville, Quebec, to contribute to the well-being of laboratory animals and support the integrity of pre-clinical studies. Key duties include animal handling, data collection, administering simple medical treatments under supervision, and maintaining the cleanliness and proper function of veterinary laboratories and surgical areas.
Handling animals,Data collection (body weight, body temperature, clinical signs),Perform simple medical treatments under veterinary supervision,Maintain the veterinary laboratory, surgical rooms, and support spaces clean,Maintaining surgical instruments and equipment in proper working order (cleaning, care, and sterilization of appropriate supplies)
Currently an Animal Health Technology or Veterinary Medicine student,Physically able to work (lift up to 20 kg, walk, stand, stoop, etc.),Ability to quickly adapt to changes and manage stress effectively,Demonstrate excellent teamwork and communication skills
Animal Health Technology or Veterinary Medicine student (Post-secondary diploma or degree in progress)
Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:15 pm (37.5 hours/week). May include working 5 days per week between Monday and Sunday based on operational needs.
Must undergo an annual tuberculosis test at the expense of the company.
