Description
Epic Games is seeking a dynamic Gameplay Design Intern to join its development team in 2026. This role involves contributing to interactive entertainment by designing characters, levels, systems, and games, with a primary focus on Fortnite. Interns will undertake challenging projects, gain significant experience, and are expected to deliver high-quality work within a collaborative team environment.
What We're Looking For
Participate in the design and creation of new items for upcoming Fortnite Battle Royale seasons.
Review and correct feature-related bugs to deepen understanding of Fortnite's design and technical implementation.
Learn to take ownership of items and features, defining their vision, documenting them, and being responsible for the outcome.
Work with Unreal Engine to implement designs in Blueprint, collaborating closely with designers, programmers, QA analysts, animators, VFX artists, sound designers, UI designers, and other team members.
Attend playtests, provide feedback, and find practical solutions to problems.
Ideal Candidate
Completed projects as part of academic studies or independent games.
Experience in all stages of the development cycle.
Passion for games and extensive knowledge in the field.
Strong interest in multiplayer games with an understanding of successful mechanisms.
Exceptional communication skills and ability to receive feedback and guidance on assigned tasks.
Some experience in scripting elements for a project.
Experience with Unreal Engine and UEFN is required.
Minimum Education
Currently enrolled in a higher education program
