Description

CIBC is seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager, IT to join their Enterprise Technology team, specifically supporting the Enterprise Data and DevOps Enablement PMO. This role involves managing complex, tactical projects, ensuring adherence to project control procedures and policies. The manager will apply deep expertise to manage project management best practices, including reporting and planning for data-driven initiatives such as AI, Machine Learning, Data Governance, and Data Security. They will also provide status updates to stakeholders and lead analytical approaches with minimal direction.

What We're Looking For

Outline project goals, terms of reference, resource requirements, and costs.,Create a resource plan ensuring all stakeholders have a voice.,Assess and improve team practices and procedures.,Help internal partners make informed decisions on program, product, and service development.,Coach and mentor teams towards common goals.,Negotiate deliverables and milestones.,Proactively identify and mitigate risks to the project schedule.,Monitor milestones and ensure completion according to timelines and budgets.,Execute project plans balancing budget, time, and risk.,Develop trusted working relationships with business stakeholders and technology partners.,Train and mentor colleagues (for candidates with extensive experience).

Ideal Candidate

At least five years of experience in project management, ideally within the financial services or technology industry.,Experience managing cross-portfolio projects in a matrix environment.,Experience with waterfall and agile methodologies.,Knowledge of the Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC).,Experience with project management and issue management tools like Planview, ServiceNow, and JIRA.
