The Sr. Market Lead for Mid Corporate Banking at CIBC is responsible for leading new strategic client acquisition and managing the entire deal team process, from pre-screening to credit approval and closing. This role involves active client relationship management, identifying cross-sell opportunities with various product partners, driving new business generation, and ensuring compliance with bank policies. The lead will also cultivate market presence, build a network of referral sources, and act as a trusted advisor to clients.
Lead deal team efforts for pre-screening and credit approval of new relationships, collaborating with underwriting and portfolio management.,Maintain awareness of deal status and manage team interactions with clients and credit management to meet deadlines.,Collaborate with portfolio management to provide first-line risk management.,Manage communication with client/agent during the underwriting to closing process.,Lead strategic client reviews with Group Head and cross-sell product partners.,Actively use and maintain a client relationship management system (CRM) for pipeline forecasting and relationship development.,Responsible for new strategic relationship acquisition and business generation goals.,Bolster market presence regionally and nationally, cultivating prospects and referral sources.,Drive new business through quality leads from prospect visits and networking.,Work to become a trusted advisor/strategic partner to clients through regular contact.,Lead deal negotiations with clients, working closely with Group Head and Underwriting team.,Identify new client cross-sell opportunities across debt capital markets, liquidity solutions, global markets, investment banking, and equipment finance.,Comply with all applicable CIBC and Line of Business policies, standards, guidelines, and controls.,Conduct oneself in a manner consistent with CIBC’s strong risk culture, including following the Code of Conduct and escalating inconsistent activities.
Bachelor's or Master's in Business (e.g., Business Administration, Finance, Accounting) or equivalent preferred.,Minimum 15 years' total commercial banking experience.,Preferably a minimum of 5 years’ mid corporate banking or corporate banking experience.,Minimum 5 years' experience in a business development role.,Solid relationship management and networking skills in the diversified industries sector.,Strong credit acumen and experience in analyzing complex financial statements.,Experience partnering with deal structuring, underwriting, closing, and portfolio management teams.,Proven track record of partnering with investment banking and capital markets on complex capital structures.
