The Senior Consultant, Operational Risk, reporting to the Director, TPRC, is responsible for providing independent challenge and proactive oversight of operational risks. This role focuses on Third Party Risk Management, Business Continuity Management, and Operational Resilience. As a second line of defense, the consultant manages all aspects of operational risk management and control frameworks, including identification, measurement, management, monitoring, and control of operational risk. The role involves collaborating with business lines and risk partners to ensure consistent risk management and contributes to the oversight of CIBC’s global operational risk exposures, advising on governance and effective plans.
Collaborate with partners and subject matter experts to identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate operational risk, demonstrating a pragmatic and solutions-oriented approach.,Establish strong working relationships across business units and control groups to provide effective challenge regarding operational resilience, third-party risk management, and business continuity risk management.,Communicate effectively, facilitating productive risk discussions, developing, and delivering strong reporting, presentations, and assessment summaries for senior audiences and risk committees.,Contribute to reports for the Board, Senior Management, and governance committees on third-party, business continuity, and operational resilience risk status, trends, issues, and mitigation strategies. Support the development of key risk and performance metrics.,Review operational practices, risk assessments, controls, and deficiencies to form an independent view of operational risks, identifying material and emerging risks through proactive reviews and monitoring Key Risk Indicators and External Events, and communicating concerns for mitigation.
