Description

The Senior Consultant, Infrastructure Management at CIBC will provide technical direction and subject matter expertise to ensure stable and reliable environments for complex sharing initiatives, adhering to established controls, standards, policies, and procedures. This role involves advising senior management, analyzing environment integrity, mitigating risks, and recommending solutions for complex initiatives. The consultant will also provide technical leadership, coordinate relationships with clients, providers, and vendors, and contribute to team development.

What We're Looking For

Provide technical direction and subject matter expertise to ensure stable, reliable environments for complex sharing initiatives.,Collaborate with and advise senior management, utilizing business dynamics to analyze and protect environment integrity and mitigate risks.,Present alternative solutions and recommend solutions using available resources for complex initiatives with key dependencies.,Provide technical leadership, interpret complex information, and coordinate client, provider, and vendor relationships to meet and manage service expectations.,Help develop the team to maximize individual contributions and professional growth, while functioning effectively with colleagues.,Provide backup support to the Platform Service Owner for asset management, and other compliance and regulatory requirements.,Leverage solid technology expertise to review and analyze current messaging software and requirements to determine the most effective solution to include in designs.,Optimize software configuration in a multi-system z/OS mainframe environment and help to ensure messaging software is technically efficient and secure with non-mainframe platform dependencies.,Work to accomplish organizational goals that are consistent in supporting both IT and Business objectives, communicate effectively and patiently across technology teams to influence teams to adopt solutions.,Provide and document problem analysis, resolution, and prevention, designing procedures and best practice techniques.,Actively participate in periodic disaster recovery exercises, maintaining disaster recovery readiness of systems, and monitoring status of systems to proactively prevent issues from occurring.,Collaborate with internal business partners in Application Development, Infrastructure, IT Operations, and IT Production Support.,Work directly with Hardware and Software vendors on solutions, build network, and deepen existing relationships.

Ideal Candidate

Minimum of 15+ years experience in Mainframe technology operations, system programming, or application development.,Experience and familiarity with mainframe system messaging protocols such as MQ, IBM Sterling Connect Direct (NDM), IMS Connect, zOS Connect, Secure FTP, Digital Certificate and other related protocols.,Current accreditation or related relevant experience and good standing in IBM Badge/Advanced Certification in Mainframe.,Experience in Incident, change and problem handling.,Participation/contribution to technical projects.,In-depth knowledge and understanding of z/OS and related product software z/OS is preferred.,Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups or activities.,Effective judgment in prioritizing and time allocation.,Knowledge of tools and techniques for effective use of a broad range of factors, assumptions, frameworks and perspectives when solving problems.
