Sr. Consultant, Application Development (Payments)

Description

This role involves joining CIBC's Core Banking and Payments group to drive technology application delivery for Payments Technology. The Senior Consultant will lead the establishment, execution, and development of technology applications, working with various teams on operational and project initiatives using the latest technologies. The position focuses on shaping strategic technology direction, optimizing technology, managing risks, and providing development and maintenance capabilities for payment systems.

What We're Looking For

Perform and coordinate complex solution design activities, translating business requirements into system and application designs aligned with the technology roadmap.,Design and document technical functionality, infrastructure, interfaces, and integrations.,Lead the design of cost-effective and innovative solutions that meet business objectives and operational efficiency goals.,Demonstrate strong skills in technical design, troubleshooting, production control, and problem-solving, with extensive hands-on development experience.,Lead and coach a high-performing team indirectly, sharing knowledge and collaborating on solutions.,Work closely with clients and business partners to develop, test, and implement application programs, advising on technology possibilities and requirements.,Anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues across hardware, software, application, and operational layers.,Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure payment applications.,Champion best practices in software development, DevOps, and CI/CD.

Ideal Candidate

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a Technical discipline.,Proven experience in Payments Technology environments.,Experience with OLTP applications.,Familiarity with the ISO20022 messaging standard.,Experience with Oracle databases.,Knowledge of Microservices architecture.,Exposure to test automation frameworks.,Experience with Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools.,Solid understanding of DevOps concepts and practices.
