Responsible for the architecture and design of customized equipment and machines on Vention's platform. This role involves collaborating with sales managers and application engineers to determine optimal technical solutions during the pre-sales phase, coaching and reviewing design work, and leveraging domain expertise in hardware, automation, and robotics to enhance team knowledge. The Solution Architect also validates presale scope, develops assets to accelerate decision-making, maintains relationships with various departments, and promotes Vention's offerings through active participation in opportunity discovery, design reviews, trade shows, webinars, and other marketing activities.
Lead the technical scoping phase with external and internal stakeholders.,Design the high-level architecture of concepts and evaluate solution costs.,Design machine workflows for client alignment.,Design high-level control architecture of complex systems.,Ensure solutions comply with industry standards, regulations, and security best practices.,Help qualify projects and support the sales team with project feasibility checks.,Assist Application Engineers in selecting adequate third-party equipment and designing RFQs.,Identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges throughout the sales lifecycle.,Develop prototypes and proof-of-concepts to validate technical decisions.,Support the deployment of machines and after-sales activities.,Travel to Client's site (up to 2x per quarter).,Coach Application Engineers during the discovery phase to capture required technical information.,Mentor Application Engineers and contribute to the development of their technical skills and knowledge.,Run brainstorming sessions and technical post-mortems.,Collaborate with the enablement team to prepare and deliver training sessions.,Put in place references, standards, work methods, and best practices.,Radiate the Application Engineering team's needs in the product roadmap and contribute to application development.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.,3-5 years of experience in application engineering, automation, or robotics.,Experience where peers look for mentorship and support.,OIQ engineer permit certification is an asset.,Take-charge attitude with a solution-oriented mindset.,Demonstrated strong desire to share knowledge and elevate colleagues.,Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments which requires handling multiple projects simultaneously.
