Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Join CIBC’s Capital Markets AML/TM Technology team as a Consultant, Automation in Testing (SDET). This role involves hands-on participation in the entire systems testing process, with a focus on creating, maintaining, and executing automation testing scripts for both API and UI (Selenium-based) testing within an Agile scrum team. You will also review Unit test cases and ensure the quality of automation scripts through demonstrations to the scrum team. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring 1-2 days per week on-site with the remaining days remote.

What We're Looking For

Lead the investigation and translation of business requirements into test cases.,Design and manage end-to-end testing activities for various projects.,Provide quality products that meet business and system requirements through expertise in software development testing.,Share technology knowledge with team members to improve project management.,Identify obstacles or risks, provide regular status updates to the business, and escalate issues when necessary.,Ensure all test deliverables are received, approved, and aligned with project timelines, budgets, and goals.

Ideal Candidate

Demonstrated experience in software development testing, automation, and software process improvement.,At least 4 years of hands-on experience in UI automation using Selenium.,Expertise in at least one programming language (Java, C#, Python etc.).,Good knowledge in SQL.,Prior experience in an Agile/Scrum environment (desirable).,Prior experience in Banking (desirable).
