Epic Games is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Tools Programmer to join the Unreal Engine UI Systems team. This role involves designing and improving the UI content creation pipeline, tools, and engine runtime capabilities for both Unreal Engine (UE) and Unreal Engine for Fortnite (UEFN). The programmer will play a central role in developing UI systems tools, including WYSIWYG editors, UI APIs/frameworks, and core runtime UI capabilities, impacting millions of users and players, and contributing to games and tools.
Own, develop, improve, and optimize the code of UI technology used to build tools and in-game UI in Unreal Engine.,Collaborate with programmers, artists, UI, and UX designers to identify improvements, gather feedback, and design solutions.,Analyze and fix common game engine problems like performance issues and memory usage.,Work collaboratively across Epic's internal teams.,Work with Unreal Engine's licensees to help them overcome challenges.
Strong C++ skills and experience working within large codebases.,Experience designing and writing tools that improve user experience, iteration, and development time in game development or other fields.,In-depth understanding of tools development, UI Frameworks, and runtime UI engines.,Ability to work effectively in a team.,Strong problem-solving skills.,Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
