Epic Games is seeking an experienced Senior Tools Programmer to join the Unreal Engine UI Systems team. This role focuses on designing and improving the UI content creation pipeline, tools, and engine runtime capabilities for both Unreal Engine (UE) and Unreal Engine for Fortnite (UEFN). The programmer will play a central role in developing UI systems tools, including WYSIWYG editors, UI APIs/frameworks, and core runtime UI capabilities, impacting millions of users and developers. The ideal candidate is passionate about designing and implementing these systems and enhancing game development pipeline efficiency.
Own, develop, improve, and optimize the code of UI technology used to build tools and in-game UI in Unreal Engine.,Collaborate with various disciplines (programmers, artists, UI and UX designers) to identify improvements, gather feedback, and design solutions.,Analyze and fix common game engine problems, such as performance and memory usage issues.,Work collaboratively across multiple internal Epic teams.,Work with Unreal Engine's licensees to help them overcome challenges.
Strong C++ skills and experience with large codebases.,Experience designing and writing tools that enhance user experience, iteration speed, and development time in game development or other fields.,In-depth understanding of tools development, UI Frameworks, and runtime UI engines.,Ability to work effectively in a team, combined with strong problem-solving skills.,Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
