Senior Tax Analyst - Indirect Tax

Description

The Senior Tax Analyst, Indirect Tax is a role within Finance’s Taxation Services, reporting to the Specialized Finance Manager. The individual will be responsible for TD Bank Group’s indirect tax compliance and audit activities, acting as a subject matter expert on indirect tax processes, and providing operational tax support to various business divisions.

What We're Looking For

Review and prepare GST/HST tax returns for TD Bank Group,

Support indirect tax audits by preparing responses to audit queries,

Periodically review accounts payable data and identify tax recovery opportunities,

Conduct tax research and provide indirect tax advice to the Bank’s business units,

Reconcile indirect tax accounts and complete assigned periodic tasks,

Analyze business data and processes to identify indirect tax opportunities and risks,

Review, enhance, and document indirect tax processes, procedures, and workflows,

Maintain and document datasets to support tax compliance and audit requirements,

Update and maintain the web‑based Sales Tax Reference Guide,

Manage and complete assigned ad hoc indirect tax projects

Ideal Candidate

Post secondary education,

In-depth GST / PST courses are an asset,

CPA designation preferred,

Minimum of 3 years of indirect tax operations or equivalent professional experience,

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to analyze and present complex information effectively,

Proven collaborator and team contributor who demonstrates initiative and accountability in achieving departmental and enterprise objectives,

Strong ability to independently manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced, deadline-driven environment,

Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence business partners and stakeholders at all organizational levels,

Indirect tax experience in Financial Institution is an asset,

Experience in data analytics and Audit analytics tools is an asset
