Vention is seeking a Senior Robotics and Automation Developer for their Client Engineering team. This hands-on, cross-disciplinary role involves designing, prototyping, integrating, and commissioning automation systems on the factory floor. The ideal candidate will bridge software, robotics, and automation hardware to deliver real customer applications, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and effective communication with both technical teams and customers.
Design, develop, and integrate robotic and automation systems for client applications.,Develop and maintain software and automation logic, emphasizing clean, maintainable implementations.,Contribute to Python-based tools, scripts, or services used for automation, testing, configuration, or system orchestration.,Collaborate using GitHub for version control, code reviews, and issue tracking.,Support installation, integration, testing, and commissioning of machines and production systems.,Troubleshoot and debug complex issues across software, electrical, and mechanical boundaries.,Work closely with internal teams and customers to clarify requirements and deliver reliable solutions.,Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices, tooling, and system architecture.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.,5+ years of professional experience working with industrial automation, robotics, or electromechanical systems.,Experience with industrial robots (e.g., UR, FANUC, ABB, KUKA) and/or PLC programming and controls system design (Siemens TIA Portal, Studio 5000, or similar).,Strong problem-solving mindset.,Working experience with Python (automation scripts, tools, or system logic).,Working experience with GitHub (version control, collaboration workflows).,Good software engineering practices (modular code, debugging, documentation).,Hands-on experience with industrial automation systems or electromechanical systems.,Comfortable working in Linux-based environments or embedded/industrial systems.,Nice to Have: Robotics integration, motion control, or machine vision systems.,Nice to Have: Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, or code generation.,Nice to Have: Experience with system commissioning, FAT/SAT, or on-site deployment.,Nice to Have: Interest in applying AI / machine learning concepts to automation or process optimization.
