Senior Relationship Manager, Business Continuity Management

The Senior Relationship Manager within the Enterprise Business Continuity Management (EBCM) group at CIBC will support the group's mission through strategic and tactical initiatives. This role focuses on helping CIBC's Strategic Business Units (SBUs) and Lines of Business (LOBs) effectively manage business continuity by contributing to an enterprise-wide BCM governance framework that aligns with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. The role also involves supporting the design, maintenance, and cost-effectiveness of the enterprise Crisis Management, Fusion Response, and Business Continuity Management Programs, participating in operational and simulation testing, and coordinating the Bank's response and recovery efforts during major business interruptions.

What We're Looking For

Coordinate and manage the preparation, testing, and maintenance of business continuity plans according to CIBC's BCM Policy, Standards, Guidelines, and procedures.,Complete resource dependency analysis for critical business units and develop alternative BCP strategies.,Provide expert consulting support for plan review and documentation, including training on BCM templates.,Actively participate in the evolving design of the BCM program.,Represent the needs of designated business and functional groups to the central EBCM team.,Participate in BCM planning and networking sessions.,Participate in the design and implementation of corporate simulation exercises, call tree, and other global exercises.,Manage the completion of annual Business Impact (Risk Assessment) and Exposure Minimization Analyses.,Provide support and challenge to business units in finalizing requirements, recovery objectives, minimum resource requirements, and backup office site arrangements.,Maintain external relationships with other FIs and financial industry support groups (e.g., CBA) to discuss emerging BCM concepts.,Work with people at all organizational levels, from senior leaders to business partners, with a hands-on teamwork approach to problem-solving, planning, managing change, and people related to incident and recovery.,Provide specialized advice and guidance to management/senior management and client groups on organizational business resilience.,Undertake a key BCM support role to senior management in the event of disaster, providing crisis management expertise and specific knowledge about recovery plans.,Oversee due diligence through review of requirements and Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) and operational testing.,Participate in the verification of key service provided / third-party recovery capabilities.,Utilize expert knowledge of best practices in BCM to transfer skills to critical business units for developing effective operational processes and test scenarios.

Ideal Candidate

3-5 years of experience in program management, preferably within business continuity.,Previous experience in a CIBC line of business such as Retail and Business Banking, Wealth, Capital Markets, Finance, Technology and Operations or other would be an asset.,Well-developed understanding of internal control processes.,In-depth knowledge of risk and regulatory requirements as they apply to Business Interruption Risk (BIR).,Accreditation and certification in BCM professional practices from the Disaster Recovery Institute (DRI) or Business Continuity Institute (BCI) is considered an asset.
