Description

The Senior Relationship Manager at TD Bank is responsible for acquiring, developing, and managing commercial banking relationships. This involves customizing financial products and services, providing solutions across various commercial segments, and growing the customer portfolio by focusing on financial solutions and new business development. The role acts as a trusted advisor, structuring competitive solutions that address customers' financing, cash management, and overall business needs.

Oversee management of large accounts and servicing teams,

Manage strategic relationships with complex products/services,

Develop and implement new approaches to sales process,

Negotiate terms and approaches to account management,

Provide leadership guidance and make recommendations,

Identify and lead problem resolution for complex requirements,

Responsible for growth goals (loans, deposits, fees), individually and within the team,

Make sales calls and coordinate sales efforts,

Gather related financial and general business information,

Coordinate financial analyses for credit decisions,

Contribute and/or provide recommendation to loan decision process based on evaluation of credit risk,

Negotiate specific terms and conditions and communicate credit decisions,

Lead all aspects of relationship management for an assigned portfolio/segment and/or geography,

Deliver exceptional customer service at every interaction,

Act as a trusted advisor to meet customer needs by providing creative products/solutions,

Actively use sales platforms to build a robust understanding of customer/target needs, industries, and markets,

Understand customer's operating environment, structure unique financing, cash management and overall business needs,

Actively generate referrals to all business partners in the Bank,

Develop a clear retention plan for assigned portfolio deposits and loans within the specified territory,

Possess and constantly enhance expert knowledge of the market, customers, and broader economic factors,

Identify and respond to changes in the business environment and establish action plans,

Identify customer/prospect referral opportunities to internal Bank partners,

Develop community relationships and membership in civic and professional organizations,

Develop/implement sales strategies to proactively attract, acquire and retain customers/sales opportunities and referrals,

Plan and execute business development activities, review and communicate results, and adjust tactics accordingly,

Promote and offer full suite of products, sales, services and banking capabilities,

Assess credit requests to determine risk and make appropriate recommendations for structuring credit deals,

Contribute to credit applications with a high quality of risk assessment, credit structure, due diligence, and credit presentation,

Contribute to business objectives for Operational Excellence,

Support the timely and accurate completion of business processes and procedures,

Protect the interests of the organization – identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high risk transactions/activities as necessary,

Ensure documentation is accurate and properly reflects client/business intentions and is consistent with relevant rules/regulations,

Identify, suggest and actively participate in process improvement opportunities,

Actively manage relationships within and across various business lines/corporate and/or control functions and ensures alignment with enterprise and/or regulatory requirements,

Participate in cross-functional/enterprise initiatives as a subject matter expert,

Ensure necessary due diligence to support the accuracy of all customer transactions/activities,

Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts,

Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite,

Assume responsibility to minimize operational and regulatory risk by complying with Bank and industry Code of Conduct,

Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment,

Provide thought leadership and/or industry knowledge for own area of expertise,

Keep current on emerging trends/developments and grow knowledge of the business,

Participate in personal performance management and development activities, including cross training,

Keep others informed and up-to-date about the status/progress of projects and/or relevant information,

Contribute to team development of skills and capabilities through mentorship,

Lead, motivate and develop relationships with internal and external business partners/stakeholders,

Ideal Candidate

Undergraduate degree,

10+ years relevant experience,

In-depth understanding of commercial industry, business development techniques and credit decisions,

Proven business development track record,

Proven ability to conceptualize and implement effective new business strategies,

Extensive network of outside referral sources for new business,

Excellent credit and financial analysis skills,

Effective negotiation skills
