The Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer/QE Lead for its Risk IT Team. This role involves supporting critical and complex applications, focusing on both front-end and back-end systems. The individual will be responsible for timely release deliveries, improving QE initiatives, and working with various technology platforms including Windows, Linux, Python, Java, and MS SQL. This role requires understanding and applying QE processes throughout the software development lifecycle.
Timely delivery of releases and QE improvement and transformation initiatives,
Create test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on complex requirement documents and business User Stories,
Develop and maintain automated test suites using test automation tools,
Execute test cases (manual/automated), document test results, and raise defects,
Responsible for component or end-to-end tracking of issues,
Work with JIRA, Confluence, qTest for test case management, defect management, and test reporting,
Participate in defect triage and Scrum meetings,
Test new technologies and system functionality for business, user acceptance, and system integration,
Collaborate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and business partners,
Continually enhance skills and build knowledge in the organization, business, and information systems,
Manage and collaborate with team members in remote settings,
Monitor and maintain adherence and compliance to quality standards
Computer Engineering, Computer Science, degree/diploma,
Finance & Technology background or equivalent experience,
QA related certification (e.g., ISTQB, Agile testing, Mobile Testing) - nice-to-have
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
