Description

This role involves developing and implementing a variety of online functionalities for Fortnite game modes like Battle Royale, LEGO, Rocket Racing, and Disney experiences. The programmer will also create tools and APIs for creators using Unreal Engine Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), contribute to improving Unreal Engine for AAA game developers, and ensure systems are resilient and secure across multiple platforms including desktop, consoles, and mobile.

What We're Looking For

Design and build new client APIs for online features that power various Fortnite experiences.,Utilize online services effectively in Fortnite across all platforms and ensure all certification requirements are met.,Ensure Fortnite is operating well for players and that online services usage is resilient at scale, assisting in diagnosing and resolving Live issues.,Design and build new tools and APIs in the Unreal Engine that make it easier for all developers to implement online features.,Write documentation to explain technical requirements and designs.,Support the Unreal Engine developer community.

Ideal Candidate

Excellent C++ knowledge and debugging skills.,Ability to approach challenges creatively and methodically, seeing them through to final resolution.,Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines and teams, explaining trade-offs to both programmers and non-programmers.,Ability to code and design system frameworks, new APIs, and tools.,Versed in software programming principles.,Experience utilizing online services in games or game engine technologies.,Experience with shipping AAA games on consoles (Xbox, Nintendo, Playstation) or mobile (Android, iOS).,User-focused, passionate, solutions-focused, and innovative mindset.
