Senior Production Support Engineer
Description
This role involves supporting the anti-money laundering (AML) platform, built on SAS Viya 3.5, used for customer risk rating, transaction monitoring, and regulatory reporting within CIBC's US Risk Technology team. The successful candidate will contribute to a relationship-oriented bank that values individual strengths and fosters meaningful impact.
What We're Looking For
Investigate application issues, prioritize incidents based on impact and severity, and identify root causes to implement preventative solutions.,Apply IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) practices for incident, change, and problem management.,Write complex SQL queries and troubleshoot extract, transform, and load (ETL) pipelines.,Manage Linux virtual machines and PostgreSQL databases hosted on Microsoft Azure.,Oversee production changes, including bug fixes and version upgrades affecting CIBC's SAS Viya AML platform.,Perform disaster recovery tests for service continuity.,Build trusted working relationships with business stakeholders, technology partners, and external vendors.,Communicate technical concepts with precision and clarity to non-technical audiences.,Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, changes in the banking industry, and regulatory developments.
Ideal Candidate
5-8 years of experience in an application support role.,Experience with Linux virtual machines.,Experience writing SQL queries.,Technical familiarity with cloud computing (preferably Azure).,Experience with SAS Viya (an asset).,Relevant SAS Certified Specialist: Administration of SAS Viya exam and Microsoft Azure training (an asset).
