Description

This role is for a Senior Platform Engineer on the WMTS-Data Platform Infrastructure Team at RBC. The team is responsible for communication, collaboration, integration, automation, and providing operational, business, technical, and system support for various platforms. The engineer will provide expert technical and business support for existing platforms, including hardware, operating systems, and system integration. They will collaborate with development, operations, and quality assurance teams, resolve technical issues, ensure security compliance, and work with external partners and vendors.

What We're Looking For

Provide day-to-day support for Wealth Management Data applications platforms (Linux, Windows, Cloud - public & private).,Take ownership of security patches and updates for operating systems and applications to meet RBC security and compliance standards.,Perform upgrades to the operating system and middle-tier applications to ensure regulatory compliance and mitigate risks.,Diagnose and resolve errors and issues reported by users.,Set up monitoring and alerts for the Data platforms to ensure stability and resiliency.,Lead Platform initiatives from end to end.,Create, maintain, and update knowledge base documentation.,Explore opportunities to leverage automation tools and technologies.,Actively participate in projects related to technology upgrades, system integrations, and process enhancements.,Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Ideal Candidate

Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with OpenShift, Linux or Windows environments.,Public and Private cloud knowledge, skills and experiences with Azure, AWS & S3.,Database knowledge an asset.,Knowledge of programming and scripting languages such as PowerShell, Shell, JavaScript, etc.,Solid understanding of general networking & SAN principles (Nice-to-have).,Experience with automating manual processes (Nice-to-have).,Familiarity with SSL certificates, implementation, operation and utilization (Nice-to-have).,Financial institution knowledge is an asset (Nice-to-have).
