The Senior Operational Risk Analyst will support the Wealth Management U.S. (WM-U.S.) business in operational risk processes and initiatives. This includes implementing Operational Risk Management (ORM) standards in line with RBC Enterprise, U.S. Operations (CUSO), regulatory, industry, and business requirements. The role is part of the WM-U.S. First Line of Defense and involves Enterprise and CUSO Risk Management activities like Control Self Assessments (RCSAs) and risk event identification to reduce operational risk and support business growth. The analyst will collaborate with senior leaders and partners across business and functional groups to execute the ORM program, perform critical risk management activities, and support business solutions.
Perform Control Self Assessments (RCSAs) within WM-U.S. in accordance with Enterprise standards, conducting in-depth analyses of risks, controls, and key processes.,Collaborate with stakeholders to develop action plans for risks outside of risk appetite.,Work with business partners to identify operational and business risks and their linkages with controls within WM-U.S., ensuring proper documentation on the firm's Risk Register.,Create and continuously improve operational risk reports and methodologies, utilizing digitized risk and control assessment and issue management tools.,Manage the collection, aggregation, and analysis of operational risk data for internal and external stakeholders across multiple risk domains.,Assist in the refresh and maintenance of operational risk reports and templates, including Risk Appetite Measures (RAMs), KRIs, and committee presentations.,Partner with risk colleagues to fulfill overall business risk objectives, including risk programs like Risk Culture and Conduct, Reputational Risk, Third Party Risk, Issues Management, Operational Risk Events, and Root Cause Analysis.,Perform ad hoc duties and initiatives related to broader business and operational risk.,Work under pressure in fast-paced and deadline-driven environments with multiple competing priorities.,Be highly organized, flexible, and skilled at prioritizing and meeting deadlines while managing multiple tasks and projects.,Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field.,Five or more years of experience in operational risk or equivalent risk, compliance, or audit within financial services.,Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.,Demonstrated high proficiency in organizational skills, including building consensus, influencing, and driving coordination, communication, negotiation, and projects across businesses and platforms.,Skill and judgment to effectively deal with and influence business partners, stakeholders, and senior management.,Proven skill in handling conflict, strategic thinking, decision-making in time-sensitive environments, meticulous attention to detail, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related field.,Five or more years of experience in operational risk or equivalent risk, compliance, or audit within financial services.,Advanced degree (Nice-to-have).,Series 7; Series 63/65 or 66; and Series 9/10 or Series 24 (Nice-to-have).,Experience working in US wealth management broker-dealer risk and/or compliance (Nice-to-have).
