Senior Mortgage Loan Closer - Team Lead

Description

This role involves monitoring and overseeing loan closing activities to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely disbursement of funds within the Consumer Lending Closing Department. The Team Lead will act as a subject matter expert, assisting Consumer Loan Closers, addressing escalations, and providing mentoring and coaching. The position requires collaboration with various internal teams to ensure a seamless and compliant loan closing process while maintaining strong risk assessment and adherence to regulations.

What We're Looking For

Monitor loan closing activities for accuracy, compliance, and timely disbursement.,Assist Consumer Loan Closers and act as a point person for outstanding issues/concerns/escalations.,Work closely with Bankers, Loan Processors, Underwriters, and Post Closers for a timely and accurate customer experience.,Ensure all pre-close file documentation is complete, accurate, verified, and closing dates are met.,Ensure processes align with bank's guidelines, risk appetite, policies, standards, and consumer laws and regulation requirements.,Craft detailed communication presenting rationale, assessment, and evaluation results.,Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure seamless loan/line closing activities.,Stay updated on market conditions, industry regulations, investor guidelines, and consumer lending laws.,Complete at least five community outreach volunteer hours annually.,Review and analyze title settlement statements for accuracy and compliance.,Examine pre-disclosure documents for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to lending guidelines.,Validate all terms and fees disclosed to borrowers.,Assess title commitment documents to confirm clear title and identify any exceptions or requirements.,Oversee the funding process, validating wire instructions, approval of fees, and disbursement accuracy.,Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining accuracy.,Support department special projects and/or testing initiatives.,Lead the closing process, ensuring all documents are properly executed and funds are disbursed.,Implement quality control measures to prevent errors or omissions.,Coordinate with stakeholders to resolve any last-minute issues.

Ideal Candidate

At least 10 years retail lending experience with focus on portfolio real estate secured and other consumer lending products including grant programs.,Strong expertise in working with high-net-worth clients.,Experience with closing agents across the US footprint.,Working knowledge of industry tools and systems like Encompass, MeridianLink Consumer, SuperNova, MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook), and FIS/IBS.,Strong understanding of federal and state lending regulations and consumer protection laws.
