The Senior Manager, US AML Advisory at CIBC is responsible for offering expert guidance and advice on Anti-Money Laundering (AML) risks to various business functions within Technology Infrastructure and Innovation (TI&I). This involves assessing AML risks across different areas like Technology, Information Security, and Payment Operations, and evaluating the effectiveness of controls to ensure proper risk management. The role also includes actively overseeing the AML Compliance internal control framework, managing advisory communications, engaging with business lines, and supporting audits, regulatory exams, and various AML-related projects and initiatives.
Provide guidance and advice to the Technology Infrastructure and Innovation (TI&I) business.,Assess AML risks associated with Technology, Information Security, Deposit Operations, Loan Operations, Payment Operations, Data Management Office, Corporate Security, Procurement, Operational Resilience and Risk & Governance.,Evaluate control effectiveness to ensure appropriate management of risks.,Actively manage oversight of certain aspects of the AML Compliance internal control framework.,Manage Advisory-owned email mailboxes.,Partner engagement with lines of business.,Support BSA/AML-related audits and regulatory exams.,Support the Compliance and EAML Examination Program (CEEP).,Assist with projects and initiatives, providing advice and guidance where necessary.,Review and facilitate Restricted Vendor approval requests to the US CAMLO.,Review and provide effective challenge to Business Unit Risk Control Self-Assessments.,Review and provide effective challenge to 1LoD procedures, especially with respect to ML/TF controls and red flag identification and escalation.,Understand 1LoD performance of Key Controls, results of Key Controls testing related to ML/TF.,Partner with 1LoD to identify and formally raise deficiencies observed during oversight activities.,Provide 1LoD guidance in understanding inherent ML/TF risk exposure, and evaluating how internal and external changes impact inherent ML/TF risk exposure, to understand sufficiency of the control environment.
Undergraduate degree in business or a related field.,Advanced degree preferred.,Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) Certification preferred.,5-7 years of experience interpreting and implementing financial services regulatory programs, preferably related to anti-money laundering and/or enterprise risk management.,Thorough knowledge of US AML laws and regulations and US Sanctions programs.,Understanding of financial services operations, infrastructure, and payment processing.,Experience with commercial banking preferred.
