Senior Manager, Technology and Communications Infrastructure Management

Description

This role involves leading strategic workplace communication infrastructure initiatives for RBC across Quebec and the Atlantic Provinces, supporting the bank's technology ecosystem. The Senior Manager will oversee a large volume of monthly tickets related to structured cabling, IT cabinet services, audio-visual installations, and smart workplace technologies. Key responsibilities include driving operational excellence through vendor coordination, process optimization, and capital budget management, while also leading and developing a high-performing team. The position is based in Montreal but is part of a wider global team, with services primarily delivered by third-party vendors.

What We're Looking For

Manage critical workplace infrastructure including structured cabling, communication room equipment, network patching, and user move management, ensuring operational excellence and business continuity.,Lead, mentor, coach, and develop team members through performance appraisals and career development, aligning with RBC's leadership vision.,Serve as an operational escalation point for incidents and change requests via ServiceNow, proactively managing communication infrastructure.,Execute complex project management, including defining scope, financial and feasibility analyses, business case development, and overseeing projects to completion within schedule, budget and scope.,Manage vendor relationships, including sourcing through RFI/RFP, contract negotiation, SLA tracking, performance reviews, and issue resolution.,Implement cost-effective solutions by researching industry trends and best practices to improve efficiency of TCIM services.,Coordinate cross-functional collaboration with internal RBC teams (Corporate Real Estate, IT, business groups) and external consultants.,Drive strategic technology initiatives by planning and coordinating emerging technologies like occupancy sensors, smart lockers, and AV solutions.,Bilingualism (English and French) is required for serving clients and doing business with RBC partners and employees across Canada.

Ideal Candidate

7+ years of hands-on experience with complex structured cabling solutions (copper and fibre) and comprehensive knowledge of IT infrastructure supporting corporate and retail sites within wider networks.,Proven experience managing and overseeing 3rd party vendors, including contract negotiations, SLA tracking, performance management, and conflict resolution.,Demonstrated ability to develop, track, and manage budgets and operational spending, with accountability for financial analysis, business case development, and cost-effective procurement decisions.,Strong capability to manage complex, high-visibility projects from initiation through completion, including scope definition, feasibility analysis, scheduling, and multi-stakeholder coordination.,Proactive, self-directed leadership with the ability to drive initiatives independently while collaborating effectively with global teams.,MBA or graduate / post-graduate or professional designations or equivalent (Nice-to-have),Minimum 2 years of deep and broad management consulting experience with an emphasis on business strategy or Process / Productivity Improvements Lean or Process Improvement Designations (Nice-to-have),RCDD Certification and/or PMP Certification (Nice-to-have)
