Senior Manager, Tax Advisory Group

Description

The Senior Manager, Tax Advisory Group, collaborates with other tax professionals in the RBC Taxation group to prudently manage RBC's tax position. This involves providing Canadian income tax policy direction and technical tax support to RBC business lines and functional partners. The role focuses on delivering value-added tax advice to stakeholders regarding products and services offered in Canada, including the income tax consequences for both RBC and its clients, covering domestic and cross-border implications. Additionally, the Senior Manager advises on tax considerations for new business and product initiatives.

What We're Looking For

Respond to tax-related queries from business and functional partners in a timely manner.,Research and analyze complex and specialized tax issues to provide practical solutions.,Strengthen business partners' awareness and knowledge of tax matters by identifying and addressing relevant issues and training needs.,Participate in organizing, developing, and delivering internal training programs, contribute to policy and procedure manuals, and maintain tax reference material.,Monitor new Canadian income tax legislation (and relevant foreign tax legislation) for potential impacts on RBC's business lines and communicate these impacts internally.,Advocate on behalf of RBC to government officials on relevant tax topics, directly and through industry associations.,Author articles and reference material for internal newsletters and websites.

Ideal Candidate

Professional designation (CPA or LLB/JD),Completion of CICA In-Depth Tax Course,5+ years professional or industry experience in personal, trust and corporate taxation, including personal financial planning,Knowledge of and experience with specialized tax issues relevant to registered plans, estates, personal and specialty trusts, investment funds, securities brokerage, and global custodial services,Broad knowledge of financial institutions, personal and corporate trust business and operations,Excellent writing, oral presentation and tax research skills,Ability to communicate complex tax matters in an easily understood manner to non-tax professionals,Nice-to-have: CFP designation
