This role at The Toronto-Dominion Bank involves contributing to and overseeing the delivery of Sanctions and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABAC) compliance programs within the wholesale banking organization. Key responsibilities include ensuring operational effectiveness, achieving program objectives, providing strategic direction on complex Sanctions/ABAC activities, advising businesses on regulatory requirements, and managing related risks and audits. The position also entails coaching and mentoring team members and other practitioners.
Contribute to and ensure operational results and program objectives for TDS Sanctions and ABAC compliance programs.,Contribute to the strategic direction on complex Sanctions/ABAC program activities.,Proactively advise covered TDS businesses of new and changed Sanctions/ABAC regulatory and/or policy requirements.,Work with senior business unit management/partners to develop proactive strategies, tactics, policies, and programs to effectively manage regulatory/compliance issues.,Provide insight, guidance, and recommendations as a specialized resource based on sanctions related subject matter expertise (screening, policy, governance, training, compliance assurance, testing).,Deliver subject matter expertise and Sanctions/ABAC guidance to business management, including developing and maintaining management reporting and analysis.,Coordinate/Manage the team’s participation in/responses to regulatory examinations and internal/external audits.,Develop and oversee the implementation of business line policies and procedures.,Work closely with leaders to develop and operationalize Sanctions/ABAC programs across the enterprise.,Plan and execute on strategic activities, review, and communicate results.,Proactively identify key business opportunities, research, and recommend enhancements/modifications.,Understand TDBG issues/parameters and guide others to protect the reputation and interest of TDBG by adhering to operating standards and processes.,Provide oversight on risk assessment processes as required.,Identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high-risk transactions/activities.,Keep current on emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements.,Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite.,Assist regional MLROs in Sanctions/ABAC in liaising with/responding to regulatory and law enforcement agencies.,Contribute to the development of regional Sanctions/ABAC program strategic priorities.,Share knowledge, information, skills, and subject matter expertise among the team.,Support an environment where the team freely escalates business challenges; facilitate change through positive reinforcement.,Act as a brand ambassador for the business area/function and the bank.
Highly specialized expertise and in-depth knowledge to manage Sanctions/ABAC programs for multiple, significant complex businesses, functional areas and/or global business lines.,Ability to provide coaching, mentorship, and guidance to practitioners, business, and executives.,Experience dealing with senior/executive management, regulators, and external/internal auditors.,Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects at a given time.
