Senior Manager, Risk Management

Description

Lead IT Risk Management and Operational Risk Management (ORM) within RBC Borealis, focusing on planning, managing ORM programs and processes across data and platform organizations. This involves providing control and advisory services, conducting risk analysis, reporting on risk and compliance exposure, driving risk awareness, and responding to regulatory and audit inquiries. This role acts as a representative of the RBC Borealis risk team within the broader AI, data, and platform communities and with key business partners.

What We're Looking For

Lead identification, assessment and treatment recommendations for IT & Operational risks,Work with application teams to ensure compliance with all standard requirements,Act as the issue management process SME within RBC Borealis, educating issue owners and communicating process changes,Contribute to automation and process improvement initiatives related to risk management within RBC Borealis,Contribute to the execution of Risk and Control Self Assessments for RBC Borealis,Contribute to the delivery of the RBC Borealis IT & Operational risk awareness program

Ideal Candidate

Minimum 5+ years of experience in risk, governance, and regulatory compliance,Expert knowledge of IT & Operational Risk Management processes, methods and tools,Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, data platforms, & software security principles,Demonstrable technical knowledge and experience covering operating systems (e.g., Unix, Windows, zOS), cloud (Azure, AWS, Snowflake) and database systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, DB2),Collaborative mindset, with ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including research and engineering teams,Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with ability to navigate complex situations and stakeholders
