Senior Manager, IT Control Quality Assurance (Global Security)

Description

The Senior Manager, IT Control Quality Assurance will join the RBC Global IT Risk Team, focusing on protecting RBC's brand, systems, and operations by providing insights and advice on IT and cyber risks. This role is responsible for enhancing the quality, consistency, and readiness of IT Control testing, ensuring all workpapers are defensible, reproducible, high-quality, and align with bank standards. The manager will drive a Quality Control (QC) program, standardize testing methodologies, and deliver actionable thematic insights to improve testing outcomes and reduce rework. The role may also involve overseeing other QC resources and managing external consultants.

What We're Looking For

Perform independent Quality Control (QC) reviews of IT control testing workpapers across all domains, identifying and addressing deficiencies in testing quality and documentation.,Drive timely remediation of QC observations with clear requirements and deadlines, collaborating with Test Performers and Test Leads.,Review 1LOD responses to 2LOD/3LOD inquiries and observations, ensuring alignment and providing guidance on best practices.,Develop and maintain testing playbooks, pre-submission checklists, and QC templates, embedding QC guidance into testing tools.,Oversee calibration sessions to ensure consistent interpretation of testing criteria and convert recurring QC themes into training materials.,Produce QC reports and metrics (e.g., defect rates, rework trends), presenting findings in governance forums and recommending process improvements.,Oversee junior QC resources and external consultants during peak cycles, providing coaching, peer reviews, and managing resource allocation.

Ideal Candidate

Proven ability to lead cross-team remediation and influence without direct authority.,Knowledge of FINRA, SEC, MSRB, FRBNY and OCC rules and regulations.,Preferred Certifications: CRISC - Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control, CISA – Certified Information Security Auditor, CISSP - Certified Information Systems Security Professional.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or related field
