Description

This role is for a Senior Manager within Risk Management's Business Effectiveness & Controls Team at CIBC. The primary responsibility involves acting as the SOX Officer/Maintenance Officer (SOMO) and supporting various Risk Lines of Business (LOBs) with governance and controls activities. These activities include control testing, managing deficiencies and their remediation, handling internal and external audit engagements, RCSA management, quarterly assertion processes, and reporting. The position also requires managing relationships, possessing strong risk and control knowledge, analytical and reporting skills, creative thinking, and project management abilities to ensure effective risk oversight and compliance within CIBC.

What We're Looking For

Act as SOX Officer/Maintenance Officer (SOMO).,Support and advise Risk LOBs on governance and controls activities.,Conduct control testing.,Manage deficiency identification and remediation.,Support internal and external audit engagements.,Manage RCSA (Risk and Control Self-Assessment).,Oversee quarterly assertion process and reporting.,Effectively interact and build relationships internally and externally to Risk Management.,Report to senior executives on the status of the control environment.,Provide rigor and structure around scheduling and organizing work.,Assist LOBs in managing deficiency remediation progress and action plans.,Assist in managing internal/external audits and compliance examinations.

Ideal Candidate
