The Senior Manager, Advanced Analytics will lead a team within TD's Enterprise Risk Management, specifically in the Model Validation (MV) group. The primary responsibility is to independently validate and approve Financial Crime Risk Management (FCRM) models for Trading Surveillance and Insider Risk Management. This involves developing and executing validation plans, identifying model limitations, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders, delivering high-quality validation reports, and recommending model approvals or corrective actions. The role also includes establishing validation standards, leading team development, and responding to regulatory and audit inquiries.

What We're Looking For

Lead a team of quantitative professionals to validate Financial Crime Risk Management (FCRM) models for Trading Surveillance and Insider Risk Management.,Develop an effective and efficient validation testing plan and complete validation in a timely manner.,Supervise team's validation work to ensure material model limitations and execution accuracy are captured.,Support team communication with stakeholders to resolve model limitations/issues.,Deliver high quality model validation reports with adequate information and justification.,Recommend model approval or other corrective actions based on independent vetting and validation.,Maintain full professional knowledge of techniques and developments in FCRM modeling.,Assume a leadership role in developing standards and procedures for vetting and validation compliant with Bank's internal Model Risk Policy, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.,Lead and develop internal team, setting performance objectives, providing feedback, and supporting development.,Respond to requests from Canadian and U.S. regulators, internal and external audit.,Work effectively with internal model development group, Audit, and other internal partners.,Provide people management leadership including hiring, goal setting, staff development, managing employee performance and compensation.,Oversee and lead complex and diverse reporting functions for areas of significant risk.,Act as a strategic partner to the leadership team on portfolio and financial management, recognizing emerging trends and identifying operational efficiencies.,Facilitate key strategic discussions and provide thought leadership to executive audiences.,Set operational team direction and collaborate on common goals.,Focus on longer-range planning for functional area (e.g., 12 months or greater).

Ideal Candidate

Undergraduate degree or advanced technical degree preferred (e.g., math, physics, engineering, finance or computer science).,Graduate's degree preferred with either progressive project work experience, or 7+ years of relevant experience; higher degree education and research tenure can be counted.,Preferred: Graduate's Degree (e.g., computer science / engineering, statistics, math, financial engineering) with progressive project work experience.,Preferred: Experience in either developing or validating FCRM models with exposure in AI / ML modelling.,Preferred: Experience in managing a small team.,Preferred: In-depth knowledge of FCRM modeling for Trading Surveillance and Insider Risk Management, Trading Strategy and Algorithm, and FI operations.,Preferred: Proficient in relevant programming language & software such as Python, H2O.AI, Scala.,Preferred: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.,Preferred: Excellent time / project management and multitasking skills with minimal supervision.
