This role at KPMG involves joining the Technology Risk Services team in Toronto to deliver IT Audit and Assurance services. Key responsibilities include collaborating with audit teams on IT risk and control assessments, performing attestation engagements like SOC reports, reviewing systems for control adequacy, and providing advice on business process controls. The position also entails engagement risk management, business development activities, and hands-on service delivery, including technical testing and reporting. Additionally, the Senior Manager will guide and mentor junior staff members.
Work closely with Audit teams to scope processes and conduct assessments of IT risks and controls, including general IT controls and automated controls within information systems for external audit engagements.,Perform other engagements supporting external audit or attestation engagements, such as System and Organization Control (SOC) reports.,Review new and existing systems regarding adequacy of controls, security, operational considerations, conversion issues, and project management assessment.,Provide advice and assistance on business process controls.,Manage engagement risk, including quality assurance, planning, development, monitoring, and profitability across multiple client engagements.,Actively participate in business development by increasing firm awareness, developing relationships, preparing proposals, and identifying opportunities in both public and private sectors.,Deliver services by conducting research, performing technical testing, writing reports, conducting interviews, and regularly communicating with clients and resources.,Guide field engagement teams and coach/mentor junior staff members.
Experience within an external audit practice auditing clients in the Financial Services industry, with a strong understanding of business processes associated with banks and capital market entities in Canada.,Experience covering multiple areas such as Markets and Exchanges, Clearing Houses, Trade Repositories, Fund Administrators, Custodial Service Providers, Transfer Agencies, Retail and Corporate Lending, the impact of IFRS9 on lending processes, and Broker Dealers.,Completion of one or a combination of CPA, CISA, CISSP, CRISC designations (CPA or equivalent accounting designation is highly recommended).,At least 8+ years of relevant experience in assessing information technology or business process risk, ideally within a large consulting practice.,Strong understanding and experience with IT General Controls and controls-based audits (e.g., SOC reporting) is preferred.,Bachelor's degree in Business or Computer Science required, ideally with a major in accounting.
