Senior Infrastructure Support Engineer

Description

The Senior Infrastructure Support Engineer role at CIBC requires strong experience with Windows servers, co-located data centers, and Azure Cloud platforms. This position involves developing and deploying servers, supporting daily operations, protecting data and system integrity, and providing back-end IT support for business and development teams. The engineer will also lead infrastructure modernization, drive cloud adoption, automate processes, and manage core systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure secure and scalable infrastructure.

What We're Looking For

Manage Microsoft, Linux, VMware, and Azure resources,Install and configure Windows servers,Support users and ensure reliable server performance,Oversee virtualization (VMware Server/ESX),Maintain on-premises and cloud infrastructure,Apply expertise in Application Insights, Azure services, Databricks and DevOps,Provide technical support and resolve server-related issues,Debug and maintain Windows programs for end users,Review backups, error logs, and resolve system errors,Monitor and optimize performance, set proactive alerts,Maintain system security and address vulnerabilities,Ensure compliance with IT standards and policies,Participate in troubleshooting, on-call, and after-hours support,Use troubleshooting and technical skills to resolve issues and ensure compliance with standards,Think critically to improve solutions and challenge existing processes,Communicate technical issues clearly to diverse stakeholders,Apply analytical, detail-oriented, and problem-solving skills,Collaborate effectively to support team success and growth,Build strong relationships, lead discussions, and drive problem resolution

Ideal Candidate

8 years of experience in Windows administration,At least 2 years working with Azure,Skilled in Windows/Linux administration and virtualization (VMware),Azure certification preferred,Experience with Azure, Windows Server, and DevOps,Familiar with monitoring tools and backup/disaster recovery (Rubrik, Azure backup vault),Experience with automation tools: Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell/Bash scripting,Strong troubleshooting, critical thinking, and documentation skills
