Description

The Senior Governance & Control Analyst supports TD Securities' (TDS) businesses globally in ensuring adherence to Financial Crimes Risk Management (FCRM) and fraud requirements, and oversees the design, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of effective internal controls. This role is crucial for keeping business activities within TD Bank's risk appetite and regulatory compliance. Key responsibilities include executing control testing, analyzing and tracking exceptions, assisting with remediation plans for control gaps, and engaging with risk partners and stakeholders to manage FCRM and fraud risk. The analyst also contributes to governance processes and supports various risk management projects and reporting initiatives.

What We're Looking For

Support TDS businesses in adhering to applicable Financial Crimes Risk Management (FCRM) and fraud requirements, managing this risk, and ensuring effective FCRM and fraud controls are in place.,Partner with other G&C teams, TDS businesses, and risk partners to contribute to the ongoing management of FCRM and fraud risk.,Support the execution of AML and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABAC) Risk assessments.,Execute testing of key controls applying TD testing methodology.,Ensure that exceptions are appropriately analyzed, reported, and tracked to resolution.,Assist TDS Businesses in developing and executing action/remediation plans to address control gaps as well as the root cause themes.,Build and maintain constructive relationships with FCRM and fraud risk partners and other key stakeholders.,Identify and escalate (as required) key FCRM and fraud issues and risks.,Assist with ad-hoc governance, risk management, and control projects or tasks of varying complexities within established deadlines.,Support G&C executive reporting on the overall status of programs.,Provide specialized business governance and control related advice/support to management/leadership.,Lead on the implementation of governance and control initiatives in support of the overall business/function strategy.,Manage a set of business governance and control work activities requiring coordination across multiple areas.,Review processes and controls and connect the dots across issues and control deficiencies in order to increase standardization of solutions, processes and controls.,Support/manage the integrated implementation of policies/processes/procedures/changes across multiple functional areas.,Provide subject matter expertise to projects/initiatives, and participate in identifying, designing and testing solutions and supporting implementation activities.,Contribute to setting standards within area of expertise.,Solve complex problems requiring analysis of multiple variables.,Interpret guidelines, standards, policies and results of analysis to inform decision making at senior levels.,Protect the interests of the organization - identifies and manages risks.,Maintain a culture of risk management and control.

Ideal Candidate

Undergraduate degree preferred.,University or Post-Graduate degree; compliance/auditing/risk management designation would be considered an asset.,Minimum 2 years of AML, Risk, and/or Audit experience (financial services industry preferred).,5+ years of relevant experience.,Prior audit experience, quality control testing experience, or familiarity with TD Bank testing methodology.,Broad and deep knowledge of business and risk and control environment.,Proficient knowledge of governance, risk and control procedures, strategies & tactics.,Proficient Knowledge of current and emerging trends.,Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.,Flexibility to quickly adapt to changing and ambiguous initiatives or requirements.,Ability to work collaboratively across functions and thrive in a fast-paced environment.,Skill in mentoring/coaching others.,Skill in using analytical software tools, data analysis methods and reporting techniques.,Skill in using computer applications including MS Office.,Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.,Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently.,Ability to exercise sound judgment in making decisions.,Ability to analyze, research, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines.,Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.,Audit background preferred.,Compliance testing experience preferred.,1b testing experience preferred.,Wealth knowledge experience preferred.,Deep risk and control expertise obtained in financial or regulatory reporting, internal / external audit, risk management.,Capable of conducting a Peer-to-Peer review and provide feedback.,Capable of providing feedback and/or corrections to outside challenge.
