Senior Director, Payment Products - Transaction Banking

Description

The Senior Director, Payment Products is a key member of the Senior Management Team within Transaction Banking at CIBC, responsible for the overall strategy, execution, performance, and daily operations of critical payment products across multiple portfolios. This includes products such as Wires, ACH, EFT, Remote Deposit Capture, Lockbox, Bill Payments, Tax Payments, e-Transfers, along with programs like Merchant Acquiring and Business Credit Cards. The role focuses on ensuring products are client-focused, operationally efficient, and fully compliant with internal policies and regulatory requirements, ultimately driving the ongoing development and growth of the Transaction Banking franchise and its contribution to CIBC.

What We're Looking For

Lead strategic planning, execution, and funding of payment product initiatives to drive growth, innovation, and market competitiveness.,Develop, enhance, and launch payment products leveraging market insights and stakeholder feedback.,Perform end-to-end product management, owning business objectives, driving customer experiences, managing performance, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.,Ensure payment products comply with all regulatory and internal requirements.,Develop and manage product pricing strategies, monitoring financial performance and competitiveness.,Lead, develop, and manage teams to achieve business objectives and foster employee engagement.,Build and manage strategic relationships and cross-functional collaborations with internal and external partners.,Drive execution of key business objectives, revenue, profit, and market share targets.,Lead and support development of a comprehensive and strategic product roadmap.,Maintain deep product experience by staying informed on industry trends.,Drive ongoing review and analysis of product performance and market positioning.,Identify, recommend, design, and implement product enhancement opportunities.,Own, develop, and execute Go-To-Market plans for new product launches and enhancements.,Take full ownership of all aspects of the business, striving to surpass objectives and deliver exceptional client experience.,Accountable for product performance by strategically managing and analyzing KPIs, market trends, and the competitive landscape.,Maintain and prioritize product backlog to ensure timely enhancements.,Interface with Business Controls, Governance, Regulatory Affairs, Privacy, Audit, and other internal partners for compliance.,Participate in remediation activities stemming from risk items and deficiencies.,Proactively identify, report, and self-assess any gaps pertaining to product processes, procedures, and controls.,Effectively manage teams by fostering employee commitment and providing ongoing coaching.,Apply the Bank's performance management system to employees.,Collaborate with business leaders within Transaction Banking and other partners across CIBC.,Work closely with key partners in Small Business, Private Banking, Commercial Banking, and Large Corporate.,Build strong partnerships with external vendors such as payment processors and data service providers.,Build sufficient industry market expertise across the team to act as a trusted strategic partner.

Ideal Candidate

10 to 15 years of work experience in Transaction Banking payment product management (including Wires, ACH, EFT, Remote Deposit Capture, Lockbox, Bill Payments, Tax Payments, e-Transfers, Merchant Acquiring, Credit Cards) and strategic planning within financial services.,Proven track record of planning and coordinating several initiatives simultaneously.,Expert coaching, relationship building, and leadership skills.,Comfortable leading large effective teams in a cross-functional and development environment at a senior level of a financial services organization.,Ability to act as a change agent for Transaction Banking through innovative and creative thinking.,Demonstrates credibility within selected industry verticals both internal and external to CIBC.,Knowledgeable of the industry and competitor offerings in a variety of industry segments.,Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with external and internal stakeholders.,Ability to work independently, taking initiative to proactively address emerging issues and capitalize on opportunities.,Ability to apply thought leadership and complex concepts to effectively contribute to strategic objectives.,Excellent relationship building skills with the ability to influence stakeholders from varied backgrounds.,Ability to understand complex issues and concepts related to new and evolving business needs, and adapt to changing circumstances.,Strong planning skills sufficient to develop project/work plans and coordinate delivery of initiatives.,Proven ability to lead in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and manage multiple activities under tight time frames.,Well-developed judgment and problem-solving skills.,Strong communication and interactive skills to convey factual and conceptual information and communicate effectively at all levels.,Ability to balance a corporate and CIBC-wide perspective with specific partner and stakeholder needs.,Strong analytical skills to develop solutions to complex issues.,Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills, including building executive presentations using PowerPoint.,Knowledge of business segments including Small Business (Business Banking), Commercial Banking and/or Capital Markets.,Lives CIBC values: trust, teamwork and accountability.
