Description

This role is for a Senior Director within the Enterprise Agile Centre of Expertise (COE) at CIBC. The primary responsibility is to drive the adoption and deployment of an end-to-end operating model across the organization, specifically by enhancing the Product Owner craft. The Senior Director will define standards, capability strategy, progression frameworks, and development pathways for Product Owners, focusing on consistent excellence in product vision, value realization, backlog management, stakeholder alignment, and client-centricity. The role involves partnering with leadership to improve product maturity, align product decisions with enterprise strategy, and develop future product leaders.

What We're Looking For

Define and continuously evolve enterprise standards for the Product Owner craft, aligned to the E2E operating model and business strategy.,Ensure clarity and consistency in expectations for Product Owners regarding vision, roadmap ownership, backlog and delivery excellence, risk and dependency management, and value realization.,Shape cross-team and cross-domain product practices to improve enterprise delivery flow, predictability, and benefits.,Define and lead the capability uplift strategy for Product Owners across multiple Domains, embedding structured development pathways.,Establish enterprise-wide communities of practice, product forums, mentoring structures, and peer learning models.,Strengthen core craft capabilities including: Product vision and roadmap formulation, Outcomes & value realization discipline, Strategic trade-offs & enterprise alignment, Client insight, journey design, and value validation loops; and technology expertise.,Establish transparent performance standards and consistent evaluation criteria.,Elevate product leadership standards, monitor maturity trends, and recommend systemic improvements.,Foster a culture of client obsession, decisiveness, and collaborative leadership.,Build strong partnerships with Team Leads, Product Owners, Tech Leads, and Domain Leads to ensure coaching translates to business and client outcomes.,Promote knowledge sharing and cross-domain collaboration.,Act as the enterprise authority on the Product Owner craft, advising senior leaders on product maturity and capability gaps.,Shape cross-functional alignment between product, technology, and business leaders.,Ensure product leadership behaviors reinforce client-centricity, enterprise risk standards, and long-term strategic positioning.,Embrace and advocate for change, continuously evolving thinking and work methods.,Apply thought leadership and complex concepts to refine strategic objectives.,Possess excellent relationship-building skills and influence stakeholders.,Demonstrate critical thinking skills for decision-making.,Strong planning skills to develop project/work plans and coordinate complex initiatives.,Proven ability to lead in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, managing multiple complex activities under tight time frames.,Enjoy investigating complex problems and making sense of information.,Communicate detailed information meaningfully and effectively at all organizational levels.,Demonstrate well-developed judgment and problem-solving skills.,Experience with large change initiatives, delivering overarching strategies related to change and communication.,Balance LOB and CIBC-wide perspective with partner/stakeholder needs and resource constraints.
