Senior Consultant, Database Infrastructure & Cloud Platforms
Description
This role is for a Senior Consultant in CIBC’s Cloud Engineering and Transformation team. The consultant will provide technical leadership for infrastructure design, best practices, and standards, focusing on implementing enterprise-level Oracle Database capabilities. Responsibilities include supporting and advancing database infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments, working with Oracle Multitenant Architecture, OEM, Oracle Key Vault, Transparent Data Encryption, and patching. The role also involves 3rd level support, work with PostgreSQL in Kubernetes/OpenShift and Azure, and adherence to Agile methodologies.
What We're Looking For
Collaborate with senior leaders to enhance automation-related solutions and provide informed recommendations.,Proactively contribute to governance initiatives, including company policies and audit requirements.,Lead the evaluation, selection, design, and implementation of new and emerging products and techniques.,Support the development of business/technology proposals by estimating implementation costs and evaluating options.,Provide comprehensive senior-level technical consulting to IT senior management and senior technical teams.,Provide subject matter expertise on specific existing technologies and manage their ongoing vitality throughout the lifecycle.,Act as an SME for Oracle Multi-tenant architecture, transforming existing Non-CDB databases to CDB/PDB for consolidation and easier management.,Support open-source and EDB PostgreSQL, including container technologies.,Coordinate with CaaS, cloud engineering teams, and vendors to deliver containerized solutions and drive cloud transformation initiatives.
Ideal Candidate
5-7 years of experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL databases in production, including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, automation, and advanced troubleshooting in mission-critical environments.,Minimum 3-5 years of experience managing Oracle multi-tenant databases, covering initial setup, administering CDB/PDB, and converting non-CDB databases into CDB/PDB.,Experienced in maintaining OEM Oracle Enterprise Manager.,Experience with OLM (Oracle Lifecycle Management) is an added asset.,In-depth knowledge of Database hardening, audit compliance reporting, and scripting.,Strong knowledge of high availability and replication patterns for Oracle RAC and Data Guard.,Golden Gate experience is highly desirable.,Working knowledge of Oracle Advanced Security products such as Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) at rest, Database Vault, and Oracle Key Vault (OKV).,Working knowledge of automation and DevOps tools including Ansible, GitHub, Artifactory, and Agile methodologies.
