Senior Consultant, Accounting Advisory Services

Description

This role involves joining KPMG's Accounting Advisory Services team in Toronto. The successful candidate will leverage their technical accounting and financial reporting expertise to assist clients with complex business challenges, including significant transactions, regulatory changes, and operational transformations, across various industries.

What We're Looking For

Key responsibilities include leading and delivering advisory engagements, supporting clients through various financial activities (acquisitions, divestitures, capital raises, IPO readiness), preparing and reviewing financial statements and technical accounting analyses, interpreting accounting and disclosure requirements, collaborating with cross-functional teams, utilizing technology tools for financial reporting, and staying updated on accounting standards. Must-haves include a post-secondary degree, a Canadian CPA designation (or equivalent/enrollment in CPA program), 3-5 years of experience in audit and/or accounting advisory, strong technical accounting skills (IFRS, U.S. GAAP, ASPE), experience with topics like revenue, leases, business combinations, financial instruments, excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills, adaptability, advanced Excel skills, and willingness to travel.

Ideal Candidate

Post-secondary degree, Canadian CPA designation (or internationally recognized equivalent, or actively enrolled in the CPA program).
