CIBC is looking for a Senior Communications Advisor to partner with internal businesses and executives, offering strategy and execution support for high-impact communications. This role involves translating business priorities into engaging narratives for employees, reinforcing strategy, and managing the company's reputation. The ideal candidate will be experienced in high-stakes environments, adept at reputation management, stakeholder engagement, and executive messaging, and capable of operating at both strategic and hands-on levels to support enterprise priorities.
Serve as a trusted advisor to teams and leaders, providing guidance on communication strategies that align with business goals, messaging, tone, timing, and stakeholder impact.,Partner with businesses/leaders to enhance their voice, presence, and narrative consistency. Draft and shape various communications including speeches, talking points, presentations, leader emails, town halls, and video scripts.,Proactively manage company reputation through thoughtful messaging, civic engagement, and strategic positioning.,Develop and execute communication plans to effectively reach and influence key stakeholders such as clients, employees, media, and investors.,Provide expert support in navigating sensitive issues, crisis communications, and change management initiatives.,Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging and alignment across all channels.,Evaluate communications effectiveness using qualitative and quantitative feedback, applying insights to refine messaging, channels, and approaches.
Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in corporate communications, with a significant portion spent advising leaders.,Demonstrated ability to interact confidently and discreetly with senior leaders and confidence to challenge constructively (Executive Presence).,Mastery in developing clear, persuasive, and impactful communications (Exceptional Writing Skills).,Strong business acumen and the ability to translate complex concepts into accessible messages (Strategic Thinking).,Experience in media relations, crisis communication, and reputation management (Media Savvy).,Proven success in fast-paced, dynamic environments with shifting priorities (Adaptability).,Highly collaborative and relationship-oriented (Collaborative).
