Description

The Senior Audit Manager, Capital Markets, provides leadership in enhancing CIBC's overall control environment. This role involves leading multi-skilled audit teams on complex audits within Capital Markets, offering independent opinions on the design and effectiveness of operational and management controls, and fostering strong relationships with business partners. The individual will identify business control weaknesses, assess their impact, and collaborate with management to develop mitigation plans, while also contributing to continuous improvement in audit practices.

What We're Looking For

Lead multi-skilled audit teams on large and/or highly complex audits in Capital Markets areas.,Provide an independent opinion on the design and effectiveness of operational and management controls.,Identify and fully understand key business processes, inherent risks, and control environments.,Scope and plan risk-based audits and assess control design and operating effectiveness.,Identify business control weaknesses, objectively assess severity and materiality, and their potential impact.,Work with business management to develop action plans for risk mitigation.,Provide effective and timely communication on risks and issues.,Foster a positive team environment to enhance audit guidelines and practice development.,Play an advisory role in matters related to risk assessment and controls.,Maintain strong cross-functional relationships to ensure comprehensive, relevant, and actionable audits.

Ideal Candidate

Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in Audit, Capital Markets, product Control, or equivalent.,In-depth knowledge of Capital Markets businesses, products, risks, processes, and controls.,Professional designation such as CPA, CFA, FRM, CIA (asset).,Experience in Private Credit, Collateral Financing, Prime Brokerage or similar areas.
