Lightspeed Commerce is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to join their data teams. This role involves defining the data landscape, building scalable data pipelines and models, transforming raw data into business logic for reports, ensuring data quality and usability, and collaborating with various stakeholders across product, engineering, operations, risk, and finance. The position requires a passion for leveraging data to generate value and providing technical leadership in data solutions.
Cleanse and transform raw data into business logic to help stakeholders build reports and data models.,Collaborate with data analysts and architects to design and feed proper data models for downstream usage.,Act as a champion for data quality and usability across the organization.,Ensure availability, quality, searchability of data and documentation.,Write, clean, and maintain SQL/Python queries/scripts that are easy to understand, simple to troubleshoot, and highly performing with proper test implementation.,Automate the testing of data models and monitor their quality.,Provide technical leadership on data solutions that are forward-looking.,Work with the team to continuously improve data pipelines.,Adopt software engineering best practices, such as version control and design patterns.,Help to define and improve internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for high-scale data infrastructure.,Share knowledge and mentor more junior engineers.,Ability to break down complex projects into smaller stories.
Proficiency with SQL and Python (or equivalent language).,Experience with MPP data warehouse (e.g., BigQuery).,Experience with Kimball/Star-schema data modelling implementation.,Proficiency in performing data profiling, data mapping, and data quality validation.,Experience with data orchestrator (e.g., Cloud Composer, Airflow, Dataform).,Solid understanding of industry standards for data warehousing and data modelling/DBT/Dataform.,Proficiency with data environments (e.g., GCP) as well as containerization solutions.,Proficiency in source control (e.g., Git), CI/CD, and automated testing.,Experience with BI tools (e.g., Looker) and building ML models (preferred).,A security mindset with the ability to work with compliance protocols (e.g., SOX, GDPR).
