This role involves serving as a Software Asset Governance Specialist within the Strategic Vendor Management team at National Bank. The specialist will focus on software license compliance, cost optimization, and supporting stakeholders during contract reviews and negotiations with major suppliers. The position requires knowledge of software product management (perpetual licenses, subscriptions, and cloud services) and the ability to translate technical issues into sustainable solutions, ultimately ensuring enterprise-wide compliance and optimizing licensing costs.
Ensure compliance of software and cloud subscriptions across the enterprise.
Develop strategies and processes to demonstrate licence ownership and compliance.
Advise business and technology teams on best practices for license management.
Optimize licensing and subscription costs and present progress reports to management.
Actively support audits and conduct informed and structured negotiations with software suppliers.
Maintain collaboration with business unit management and internal teams.
Solid experience in managing licences and user agreements (approximately 7 to 8 years).
Understand IT architectures and their impact on licensing models.
Master purchasing practices and related legal aspects (compliance, renewals, audits).
Use analysis and reporting tools to track software assets.
Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) certification from the International Association of Information Technology Asset Managers (IAITAM) (or obtain it within 12 months of taking up your position).
